The WR400 extends the radio path between Pelican devices where distance or obstructions prevent a reliable connection. It can help connect a remote part of a building or bridge between buildings when the site layout permits.
Network requirements
This is a repeater for an existing Pelican mesh network. It does not provide an Internet connection and does not need an Ethernet cable. After power-up it joins the mesh automatically; the signal and status indicators help assess its location.
Placement
Use the supplied adapter and select a wall location with adequate signal from the existing network. Metal objects and nearby electronic equipment can reduce coverage. The published range is a planning figure, not a guarantee for a particular building.
Product generation
Pelican presents WR900 as the newer repeater generation and states that WR400 remains supported. WR400 uses 2.4 GHz; the newer model's dual-band capability must not be attributed to it.
