Overview

PRX1 sends door/window or contact status to a paired Pelican thermostat. Its built-in magnetic switch detects a nearby magnet; an external reed switch can be used where the transmitter cannot sit beside the opening.

Occupancy input

Alternatively, connect the dry-contact output of a separate occupancy sensor. PRX1 transmits that contact state—it is not itself a motion detector. Door/window sensing and occupancy-input operation are alternative configurations.

System requirements

Pair the device with its master thermostat in the Pelican web application. Configuration determines the delay and thermostat response when the opening or occupancy state changes. The application retains status history and can provide low-battery notifications.

Installation considerations

Follow the guide for magnet spacing, contact wiring and mounting. Avoid metal enclosures that prevent wireless communication. Example wiring documents show particular applications, not universal compatibility with every external sensor.
