Will this work with my system?

Match your equipment to these requirements before ordering.

Works with

  • Ventilation controllers with matching 0–10 V DC, 2–10 V DC, 0–20 mA or 4–20 mA inputs.

System requirements

  • Class 2 24 V AC/DC supply, ±20%; 50/60 Hz for AC.
  • Voltage output load greater than 5000 ohms, or current output load less than 500 ohms.
  • Automatic Background Calibration requires at least four unoccupied hours per week at outdoor CO₂ levels.

Limitations & exclusions

  • Not a primary life-safety detector; senses carbon dioxide only.
  • Not for highly corrosive environments.

Check before you buy

  1. Match the controller input type, scaling and load to the selected sensor output before purchase.
  2. Read the device date code and use the matching jumper table; pre-0309 models use the manual appendix.
  3. Compare the supply and connected relay load against the manual ratings and confirm an appropriate wall location.

Overview

The Honeywell C7232A1008 measures carbon dioxide for building ventilation control and displays the reading on an LCD. It is the wall-mounted C7232 version; its analog output must match the receiving controller's signal type and scaling.

Selection and installation

Provide the specified Class 2 supply and check the analog input load. The separate relay contact rating is not the sensor's supply voltage. Use the installation manual for mounting, wiring and commissioning.

Automatic Background Calibration depends on the space reaching outdoor CO₂ levels during at least one four-hour unoccupied period each week. It is unsuitable for that calibration method when nonhuman CO₂ sources or continuous occupancy prevent this. Check the date code before selecting jumper settings: devices made before code 0309 use the appendix tables.

This sensor is intended for CO₂ ventilation control. It cannot serve as a primary life-safety detector.

Lifecycle

Honeywell’s exact-SKU catalog identifies C7232A1008/U as discontinued in the United States. The technical documents remain applicable to existing equipment; no successor or universal replacement is asserted.
