Match room humidity controls to humidifiers, dehumidifiers, and supported HVAC accessory sequences.
Humidity control requires a sensor, a suitable control output, and equipment that can add or remove moisture. A thermostat displaying relative humidity does not by itself establish that it can operate a particular humidifier or dehumidifier.
Product options
The Johnson Controls W43A-14C is a standalone room humidistat with SPDT switching for humidifying or dehumidifying equipment. Its control action and electrical ratings must match the connected load.
The PRO1 T755WHO provides configurable humidity-control functions through its equipment module. Its installation manual distinguishes humidification, dehumidification relay behavior, and dehumidification using air conditioning.
The Prestige IAQ kit uses an equipment interface module with configurable accessory relays. The selected configuration determines how those outputs are allocated among equipment and accessory functions.
Before selecting
Identify the accessory's control voltage, contact requirements, and whether its input expects normally open or normally closed operation. Confirm whether the fan, heat, or cooling must run during a humidity demand. Decide where humidity should be measured and whether a supported remote sensor is needed.
Use the exact equipment and control manuals to establish the sequence. The controls listed here do not include the humidifying or dehumidifying equipment itself.
